The cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the province of Sichuan of China is reaching a new level. Today, an online meeting was held, which was attended by representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Sichuan Province, with the Kyrgyz First Deputy of the Tourism Development Support Fund Zholchubek Batyrbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO) Saltanat Midin, employees of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of many travel companies - more than 50 from the Chinese and 20 from the Kyrgyz side.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the tourist potential of the Kyrgyz Republic and the province of Sichuan. In the near future, an airline will be launched between Bishkek and Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, this will contribute to an increase in the tourist flow between the countries.
Representatives of the airline especially noted the flexible system of discounts, which will make travel even more attractive.
The Chinese side asked to solve the issue of visa-free regime for Chinese citizens and, in turn, promised to promote the inclusion of the Kyrgyz Republic in the list of countries recommended for Chinese tourists to visit. And also invited Kyrgyzstan to participate in a large tourist exhibition, which will be held in Sichuan in 2025.
As a result of the meeting, two Memorands of Understanding and Cooperation are preparing to sign - between the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Province of Sichuan on the and Tourism Fund and KATO.
