Russian journalists met new flight to Issyk-Kul and tried Karakol hospitality

Journalists, bloggers and representatives of airlines from Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk traveled through the Issyk-Kul region and assessed the opportunities of tourism, and also met the first flight Yekaterinburg-Tamchi. They’ll return to home tonight.

17 representatives of the Russian media, as well as representatives of the airline Ural airlines visited Kyrgyzstan to tell the Russians about the possibilities of tourism on Issyk-Kul. Representatives of Destinations Karakol together with employees of the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Respublic and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Issyk-Kul region told Russian journalists what places can be visited on Issyk-Kul, told about the history of Issyk-Kul region and held an extensive cultural program.

“Special emphasis was placed on the development of cultural tourism. Journalists asked questions about transport accessibility in Kyrgyzstan, availability of luxury hotels on the shore of the lake, safety, payment system, whether we work with non-cash payments", - said the representative of the Tourism Fund Albina Alimova.

According to the Fund’s representative, Russian journalists learned a lot about Kyrgyzstan in general and Issyk-Kul region in particular.

When I talked about the history of the city of Karakol, journalists asked them to show them the city. I began my excursion with the first science temple in Karakol - the first girls' gymnasium of Kyrgyzstan, showed the merchant quarter and told what contribution the merchants made to the development of not only Karakol, but the entire region more than a hundred years ago and held a tour of history. We also visited the Temple of the Holy Trinity, Dungan Mosque and the first trading house in the territory of Karakol. For all journalists Issyk-Kul region became a real discovery. But, due to time constraints, they certainly could not fully plunge into the atmosphere of the history, traditions and culture of the city, as they could not see other regions of our country, but there will be a reason to return! I am sure that the natural scenery, the lake, the history of Karakol and our hospitality left an unforgettable impression to the guests," - said Alimova.

But, of course, no one was hungry. Destination Karakol prepared for guests from Russia the so-called "cultural dinner" where Russian journalists were presented culinary delights, national dishes and drinks. Guests were able to appreciate: Kyrgyz dinner in the yurt, Dungan dinner Hogo, Dungan dinner in the village of Yrdyk, Dungan dinner in the family, Uighur dinner and dinner in the Cossack family. In addition, a representative of each table in a national costume told the story of his people.

The organizers of the event stressed that the Russians especially liked Issyk-Kul honey made of sea buckthorn.

It should be noted that during the tour, which included a visit to the "Issyk-Kul regional TV and Radio Company", representatives of the latter signed an agreement on cooperation with Russian TV staff.

"We signed a memorandum of cooperation with Sverdlovsk regional television and Chelyabinsk regional television. We will share content and information in order to expand tourism in Issyk-Kul region. We will be shooting various videos about tourism in Issyk-Kul, and the Russians will show them on their TV channels," - said the director of the "Issyk-Kul regional TV company" Gulnur Bayakunova.

The press tour for Russians was held with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Fund for Support of Tourism Development in Kyrgyzstan, together with the Department of Tourism, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Yekaterinburg.

Flights from Yekaterinburg to Issyk-Kul will be carried out twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
